corruption is as old as humanity itself. It has been like a creeping shadows in every corner of the world in existence. But never has it so widespread, and been open as it is now. Corruption has been institutionalized today and is organized more in the business world and the corridors of power.
It is an accepted fact that corruption is now rearing its head all over the world, without discrimination between the developed countries and third world countries. Let's limit our discussion to the widespread corruption in India.
Corruption has integrated into the fabric and the morale of Indian bureaucracy, politics and the business world. While it's existed since independence, there has never been so widespread, so large involved in terms of height and so ruthlessly as it is now. In the good old days, people used to get shocked and raised his eyebrows in corruption levels relatively lower amounts of money are involved. But the 2G scam and Raja changed all that. The alleged corruption number of Rs.176000 / Crores was beyond the comprehension of most of the Indian public and they were dizzy by the insane sum.
corruption was Commission take various forms, be, kickbacks, brokerage or any other. Whatever to calls it, it is still corruption. They read in the newspaper that there was a raid in the income tax office by the Central Bureau of Investigation and senior assistant commissioner was arrested for possession of unaccounted money sum of Rs.5 million. Such messages refuses to stun the ordinary citizen. No longer. Not after the post-Raja era a chance!
The classic case is the Anna Hazare-led anti-corruption fight. Thresholds in the public domain in India out of nowhere, Anna caught the unfortunate public and the even more unfortunate news media, both print and visual, in a cause recording that for many after, is just about the creation of a statue, instead of the corruption problem addressing.
India is a country that has no shortage of laws. We have a law against smoking in public, spitting in public meetings in public, a traffic hold and organize strikes and shutdowns. But we violate these laws, almost daily, hourly. No one is least disturbed.
The real problem is not new laws but earnestly implement the existing laws in law. But who is listening?
Really growing corruption as a threat is growing, such as cancer grows in the final stage, in India's political body.
It really is a pointless exercise to list all areas of corruption that exists today in India. Judicial, executive, legislative, bureaucratic, no segment of society has been spared.
Benjamin Disraeli, former British prime minister, once said that every nation, the government, it is earned. How true! We Indians are ready to bribe bribed and be. How can then be different from our own selves the elected government?
When we discover our lost values again and shake off our lethargy and apathy, there eradicate corruption no hope.
Let's say corruption is here to stay, if they do not grow!
